What's Resonating With You!

The blog The Beautiful Mess joined the #resonate11 journey yesterday and she did so by answering all of the prompts. To read that, click here

Here's a snippet of her answer to the December 13 prompt:
Splurge: Did you splurge on something this year? Did the troubled economy prompt you to hold back, or did you just give it all for something?

In May I bought a pair of running shoes.  I felt like the hundred dollars I spent was splurging but it was the best thing I did for my shins.  Then, in August I bought my bike and that was spending a whole lot more.  Buying that bike gave me something I didn't know I had in me.

Without: What can you do without in 2012? What was holding you back in 2011?

Major props to The Perox Side, again, for their response to the topic "Without." Again, touched with humor and something we can all relate to. The fear of failure:

Joking aside, you can’t succeed if you don’t try. I know this. Anyone who passed kindergarten with at least a few gold stars knows this. Trying new things is good! It’s how you learn to like (or cook) new foods, discover abilities you didn’t think you had and generally just makes you feel full of winning.

Books
We have to give props to The Perox Side for their response to the topic on books. Full of humor and not nearly as emotional as the creator of this #resonate11 journey, this writer states something simple:

And I’m thankful this question was asked on December 3rd and not a few days earlier. If it had been, I’d have to admit that last time I read a book we had a Bush in the White House and it was technically a “kid’s book” (OK, it was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows which is way sophisticated and transcends all age groups).
